In today's blog we are going to read about Linux. So exactly what is LINUX , the answer is Linux is the open source operating system which are totally handled through terminal. As it is the open source it is free to download for the user . Does not requires any specific requirements.

Now a days the Linux has gain widely popularity among the developers rather than the other operating systems. There can be many reasons behind that , lets us discuss that

1) Security: Linux systems rarely affected by the malware such as viruses, worms, etc. As it provided a very high security to our systems .It may be the reasons for its popularity but it honestly a very important feature of it I personally shifted from windows to Linux(Expect many reasons because of my lapi cannot handle the windows due to its old age😅️😅️).

2) Free Operating system : As coming to talk about its cost Linux is free for all the users as it compare to it for windows latest version(i.e windows 11) it require a new PC with specific requirements this also require a good expenditure and coming the macos it is only for mac book or apple products which require minimum of $999 . This is very expensive as thought of students .

3) Environment: image.png

As we talking about the environment , the thought came to our mind about linux the terminal which gave the feeling "like a hacker🙂️". But out of joke linux provide a very secure and a development like environment for the programmers. Even this is one of the reason i shifted to the linux .

4) Size: Linux require very less size as compare to the other operating systems . As windows require a hundred of Gigabytes and user more CPU and GPU which just drop te overall performance of the PC but as linux have a very low size so it is fast and does not require much of the CPU.

5) Customisation: Linux has a very good feature of customisation . Developer can customise the operating system as of its requirement and make it as better for them as they want.

4. Kali Linux

Kali Linux is widely used by the hackers. Kali Linux is a Debian-derived Linux distribution that is maintained by Offensive Security. It was developed by Mati Aharoni and Devon Kearns. Kali Linux is a specially designed OS for network analysts, Penetration testers, or in simple words, it is for those who work under the umbrella of cyber security and analysis.

The open-source Kali Linux operating system (OS) allows pen testers use the same exploits as malevolent, would-be hackers – tasks that would be needlessly difficult or impossible with a standard OS.
